My less-than-mac-friendly company moved me to a new exchange server. Entourage produces a root server error, or tells me that it can't establish a secure connection because "the server name or IP Address does not match the name or IP address on the server's certificate." I am not having any luck getting the root cert from the exchange server to install on my mac. <sigh.>

What are the magic words I can say to the IT folks so that I can access the server using my old method - server address the same as that used for secure web access? I used to put something like

Well first, they obviously have a certificate problem they need to fix. They need a new proper server certificate where the IP matches what's in the certificate. Then if the server you are connecting to is giving you trouble, you can try connecting to the front end server (OWA) if you were connecting to a back-end server and vice versa,
