There is a persistent bug in a new address book entry. File -> New -> Contact -> More -> Work -> Click in the Phone number Field
Enter a phone number in the Phone number field. Leave the cursor in the field. Command-S for Save. POOF. Phone number disappears. If there are two phone numbers there, unsaved, both disappear. The workaround is to move the cursor up to the Street address field, and then Save. Or, move to the Summary tab, and then Save.
