That should not be necessary, if the programmers were doing their job.  In
most cases, a program monitors several cues to detect the end of editing in
a text field.  That can happen when the user tabs to another field, or
clicks outside the text field, or enters a keyboard command.

As I mentioned in an earlier message, Entourage 2008 seems to be doing the
right thing for me (I've now tried it on two different computers).  So I
suspect there are additional conditions required to reproduce the behavior
that Roger described.
