What Microsoft is suggesting is to use Apple's switch user. It's not MSFT's
documentation.

First, I would have liked to see it where it always was. Now my ramblings...

If you use "Switch Identity" for archival purposes, it's not a huge burden
to have to go through the Database Utility.

If you are using it for another person's Identity, then you are going
against Apple's guidelines.

You have two choices.

1) go through the longer procedure to "Switch Identity"
2) add a new User account and use Fast User Switching

In the end, you might end up liking the separation. If your preferences go
bad then it will only affect one Identity rather than two.

Changing our habits is hard. I'm still using way too many folders and need
to use the smart folder to manage my emails.

Lastly, there is no reason at this time to leave Entourage for either
Outlook or Apple Mail if you aren't having issues. For Exchange users, I
would definitely say update. If you are hit with the webcore/javascriptcore
crashes. UPDATE! It's never going to be fixed in Entourage. If you use a lot
of scripts, then Outlook is going to drive you nuts until scripting is
improved.

We haven't even started on the ribbon. This is probably going to be the most
controversial issue in Office 2011.
