The last message in the thread is http://lists.baseurl.org/pipermail/yum-devel/2012-July/009380.html and I don't see any resolution to this issue. It may not be of interest for Seth to clarify this but for distros this is an issue. AFAICS, yum is either licenses as - Any GPL - GPLv2 only - GPLv2 or later As far as I get it, the last option seems to be what is actually intended.
