Im trying to get the ZD1211 driver to work with a Hawking HWU54G USb 
device on a ARM PXA255 XScale platform. however there are some distinct 
differences while loading the module on redhat 9.0 (2.4.20-8) and on the 
embedded linux flavour (2.4.25 elinos). Im using driver release 80, the 
same issues arise with release 59 too.

here is the dump from dmesg: I added a few more printk statements to the 
driver code to indicate when specific functions are called and returned.

upon bringing up wlan0 with ifconfig, the device does not associate with 
the access point even after manual configuration. Secondly I constantly 
get periodic messages
