Hi everyone

I'm running a vanilla 2.6.18-rc2 on a Gentoo box with some Zydas chip WLAN
USB stick.

I had some problems with previous kernels and updated to give the rw driver
a try.

somehow the zd1211rw module can't be loaded. This is what dmesg says on
bootup:

usb_init()
kobject_add failed for zd1211rw with -EEXIST, don't try to register things
with the same name in the same directory.
 [<c0286bfd>] kobject_add+0xfd/0x150
 [<c0286c78>] kobject_register+0x28/0x60
 [<c02ed685>] bus_add_driver+0x75/0xe0
 [<c03491d5>] usb_register_driver+0x55/0xc0
 [<c0118d87>] printk+0x17/0x20
 [<e0997024>] usb_init+0x24/0x54 [zd1211rw]
 [<c0138872>] sys_init_module+0x122/0x1f0
 [<c010326d>] sysenter_past_esp+0x56/0x79
usbcore: error -17 registering driver zd1211rw
usb_register() failed. Error number -17

Same happens when I try an "insmod zd1211rw".
I've been compiling kernels for a while, but never encountered such an error
message.

This is part of my .config:

# CONFIG_NET_PKTGEN is not set
# CONFIG_HAMRADIO is not set
# CONFIG_IRDA is not set
# CONFIG_BT is not set
CONFIG_IEEE80211=y
CONFIG_IEEE80211_DEBUG=y
CONFIG_IEEE80211_CRYPT_WEP=y
CONFIG_IEEE80211_CRYPT_CCMP=y
CONFIG_IEEE80211_CRYPT_TKIP=y
CONFIG_IEEE80211_SOFTMAC=y
# CONFIG_IEEE80211_SOFTMAC_DEBUG is not set
CONFIG_WIRELESS_EXT=y

CONFIG_ZD1211RW=m
CONFIG_ZD1211RW_DEBUG=y
CONFIG_NET_WIRELESS=y

I already tried hard-coding the 1211rw, but that doesn't help either.
I haven't tried 2.6.18-rc3 yet because the changelog list no changes for
zd1211rw.

I found no suitable answer anywhere else, could somebody give me a hint to
get this fixed, please.
