dscape boots and works at low speed on John's tree with
zd1211rw_d80211. It has the same problem as zd1211rw, it drops packets
on 11g at high speeds until the link disconnects. Looking at the log,
I was fine for 20MB of transfer, then something went wrong and the
link never recovered. There is no detail in the log about what happed.

I went straight from ok messages to: kernel: smb_add_request: request
[f0dbec80, mid=700] timed out! after a 10 second pause with no log
messages.

BTW, XGL is stable for me under dscape. That implies that something
from the other stack is corrupting memory and killing the NVidia
driver (which is a great big target).

I patched softmac to fix the workqueue problems in 2.6.20-rc2. Are
there other problems with softmac? Do I have to use softmac with
zd1211b/AL2230_RF hardware? I'm simply trying to locate the best
version of the driver for my hardware. Once I find it I can study the
code and try to fix things in it.
