This is an unrelated (?) problem to what I described in my other post. My situation is pretty unusual: I have a tiny PC called eBox-2300 that runs at 200Mhz. This PC is running Puppy Linux with a 2.6.18.1 kernel. The box has USB 1.1 ports.
I mostly got a LINKSKEY LKW-G750 USB adapter to work with WPA encryption, BUT I see extremely high latencies when I ping a nearby computer. Ping times are on the order of 100-10000 ms, compared to 0.5 ms when using a wired connection. This makes the wireless connection all but unusable. Using wireshark, I see one possible culprit for the problem: ACKs are sent by the adapter with a delay of ~2 ms, compared with 0.2 ms for my other cards. This probably causes a timeout. Another clue is these messages from dmesg: TKIP: replay detected: STA=00:13:10:86:90:39 previous TSC 000000000012 received TSC 000000000012 TKIP: replay detected: STA=00:13:10:86:90:39 previous TSC 000000000015 received TSC 000000000015 TKIP: replay detected: STA=00:13:10:86:90:39 previous TSC 000000000017 received TSC 000000000017 I wonder if anyone has seen anything similar or knows of a solution. Is zd1211rw expected to work with 200Mhz PCs? Is USB 1.1 well supported? Am I out of luck with the 2.6.18.1 kernel?
