When I was younger and starting out in zen I was also raising six children.  
I asked this very question to Mizumi Roshi and he told me something to the 
effect of:  'Just let kids be kids.  If you sit and practice earnestly in your 
daily life your daily life that is enough exposure to zen for your children.  
When they start asking questions or express interest in your pratice, that is 
the time to start introducing them to zen.'
