ED,

Consciousness is not a topic that interests me a lot.  The other co-moderator, 
Edgar Owen, is very interested in consciousness and has written a long treatise 
about it and its significance in Zen.  Edgar hasn't posted much lately, but I 
know he monitors the posts, so I thought he'd jump in on the post below to 
throw in his much more than 2-cents worth.
