ED: You do not need to "support" anybody here.
I believe they can all stand on their own two feet.
MEL: I think they call that compassion, especially when it takes place with a
clear mind/conscience
ED: "They" want to show that "they" are right, but not you self-proclaimed
meditators?
Is that not judgmental? Is that not a bit dualistic? ;-)
MEL: ED, you may want to let the BigMind operate here. Passion is fine, until
the Ego/SmallSelf finally wins the battle..and then there's a problem
I'm reminded here of the biblical forum I was once actively participating in.
The atheists would barge in and declare that they're there to rock the boat and
wean the blind off Yahweh. The devout/faithful would of course feel insulted,
and start throwing out insults of their own. As expected, the atheist would
turn around and say things like....
...'You Christians should be ashamed of yourselves. Do you think Christ would
approve of your behaviour?'....
ED, you got thrown off your groove/rhythm/mojo in this great passion of yours
to discuss Zen in a purely academic way. I will repeat it again: you don't have
to convert to our beliefs, but please don't be too surprised or even insulted
if we tell you every once in a while that you're way off mark
I now understand why both devout Christians and Muslims were eventually annoyed
with me to no end because I wanted to discuss holy scripture purely from an
academic point of view
