Right now, if you are very alert you can see for yourself. In
any moment of experience there is neither subject nor object.
A split second later conceptualization conjures up self and other.
When that Zen guy heard the bell ring and saw his Original Face,
it wasn't anything extraordinary. In any moment of experience it
can be apparent to you, as it is to me. We are not a subject having
an experience of an object. We are the totality of the moment,
which is always here and now. When we think about it, then the
moment is split in two. IMO.
