Mel,

I can identify with your picture of a person just living in the now and not
really caring about things like careers/relationships in the next 5 years (God,
that's sooooo me). But that's only half the story. If you read the words Steve
wrote below, I think you'll also find that the CEO of a mult-national company
could be included in them.

>Zen people are an aimless, useless lot, going nowhere
>and doing nothing!

Mike

Subject: [Zen] Two Potent Quotes(to Steve/list)

Yayyyyy!! At last, somebody had finally pointed this out. Thank you Steve!

When I was in my 20s, I dated a highly-driven career-type woman who was
frustrated with me to no end because I couldn't answer the.....

...'Mel, I just want a straight answer: where do you see yourself in 5 years
time?'.....

Unfortunately, my dualistic 'small self' just couldn't allow myself to tell
her....

...'Signora, I do have some idea of where I'm headed, but more importantly, I'm
more concerned on a moment-by-moment basis'....

...which would have probably been replied to by.....

....'Mel, are you nuts!? You live on a day-by-day basis?'...

As I said folks, I was dualistic during the whole date. Hey, I was trying to
impress her, no?...*grin*...

Buddha be praised
Mel

PS. Because this forum's messages are open to the dualistic public, this sense
of relief will certainly be misunderstood, instead of otherwise. Zen is Zen is
Zen is Zen..........
