Kris,

Sure, and the flags, just like the bounded nations they were developed in, have
separate character, in expression, emphasis, art, philosophy, and other aspects
of culture. Let's not homogenize everything before Globalization does it for
us.

Anyway, the point of my post is to note the character of the philosophies, and
the state or status of mind they come from.

My first career was as a Philosopher: Philosophy is an endeavor I've been able
to dwell on/in for a good long while. Granted, I went back to Natural
Philosophy, but that's still in the same neighborhood. ;-)

The motion and non-motion thing makes all the difference in the two traditions.
And the difference is stark, and tasty.

Left-Right, East-West. ;-)

By the way, in Buddhism there are TEN Directions: the 4 Cardinal Points; the 2
directions of Up, and Down; the 2 directions of Left and Right; and the 2 Time
directions of Past and Future.

The Present doesn't count. Or the Buddhists can't. ;-)

The reason that the Present does not count ... can you see?...
... is because you cannot GET there from here. So, it is not a Direction.

(your mind didn't even have to move to "get" THAT one did it?). haha.
