There are conundrums in Nature and in Science that are big these days;
I don't see the solutions. I have been trying. The right kind of
light has not struck, nor maybe neither the cool of dark.
G'ung-ans or Koans can be tough nuts, as you may know if you've
practiced in the Lin Chi or Rinzai style. Of course, they are not
practiced-with in an intellectual way, and in fact they are a
study between a teacher and a student.
In Science, Nature is the teacher, and there's little compassionate
help to be found anywhere. It's all in Nature herself, wherein also
resides the insight to discovery and understanding. But you have to
be lucky! Well, same as in zen practice.
Finding no resolution yet, I made a poem;
Tough as a koan:
trying to wrap grey matter
around dark matter.
