Merle,

"Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म IPA: [ˈkərmə] (
listen);[1] Pali: kamma) in Indian religions is the concept of "action" or
"deed", understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect
(i.e., the cycle called saṃsāra) originating in ancient India and
treated in the Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Sikh religions.[2]" - Wikipedia

Now which are you going to believe? Some 3rd- or 4th-hand interpretation of a
translation of something someone thought they heard Buddha say? Or
Wikipedia.com? I think(but don't know for sure) the term 'karma' and its use
as a religious belief predates Buddha (Siddhartha) anyway...

...Bill!
