joe..i have never seen the tree with seed pods..and i have lived with the 
trees for 35 years....
 they grow new saplings as suckers in the earth
i have never dared to stir fry the leaves..i googled the info years ago and 
found that the leaves were good to eat
have you yourself eaten them?

And, Merle... do these look like the empty seed pods on your Chinese Cedar / 
Chinese Toon trees?:

(the coins are US, not AU)

I understand the young leaves of the tree taste like ...Onion?  Is that right?
