Merle,
Aww-, shucks. I'm not THAT sparing, Merle.
I'm 6 feet 3 inches, and 188 pounds. That's 191 cm and 65 kilos. I forget how
many Stone that is.
I don't think I stay spare by sparring, though.
My "speed" of sparring these days is push-hands, in t'ai chi. I hope you love
it as much as I do! The Form is meditation-in-motion, you know, and the
push-hands is an "application".
Wishing you strong practice with it.
Have you learned the push-hands, and practice it, now? You need a partner who
also does the t'ai chi chuan, I suppose, but you could also teach someone from
"scratch". It's great exercise, as well as a good way to see for yourself
where the "form" of each form comes from, when we use it in an "application" --
as the "t'ai-chi-stas" call them.
Nobody gets hurt in push-hands! And everybody learns something.
Take it easy, now,
--Joe
