RAF,

At least Lassie missed the Collie Yuga! Good Girl, there, now.

Oops; now my cats are jealous. I'm in deep doo-doo, and no amount of kitty
litter in the pan is going to help me to climb out.

Meanwhile, the Dharma-Ending Age is not yet upon us (except for our own
advancing ages' imminent implications. Now is the time for all good men to
come to the aid of their Practice! You too, Merle).

Beings and Hungry-Ghosts may depend on food, but we are not attached to it.
Attachments are things that cause us vexations. Vexations are not real.
Hunger is real. That is the tangible and tasty difference between a natural
dependence and illusory attachment.

If Twinkies go out of existence because of bankruptcy and lack of a buyer of
the company, I will survive, and be calm, because I am not "attached" to the
cakes. Twinkies themselves may attach to a person, but that's only a
sticking-to-your-ribs, and enhancement of your mid-life belly, not to your
psyche, soul, atman, or small mind. One "must" attach to them, not they to
you. I'll miss the crinkly wrappers, but not the contents. But I am not
attached to the wrappers. Nostalgia is a form of appreciation, and respect,
not attachment.

Hey, remember... ? No, never mind.

(I was thinking of 17-cent gas).
