It's not me who's a Monastic.  I escaped by the tartar on my teeth (in those 
storied days).

I felt it's better to whip our friends into shape as One of Them.

Imagine the hubris.

I told my Shih-fu this, and he understood.  But he wanted me as one of the 
hundred-plus Precepts folk.  Just because I woke up.  I told him, "I know who 
my Master is".  He was just a part.  It took a *lot* of gesticulating, but my 
expression is articulate.  His English was elementary, but he was a Genius.  
And his heart was the size of a Texas-to-fill-the-Universe.

And I am obstinate, and know my own Mind.  Put it that way.

At that point, we had the most-est-of-the-most-est respect for each other.  He 
taught me things to help me as a Lay Dharma Teacher, without Transmission.

So it continues, FOUR years after his passing, on Feb. 3rd, Taiwan Time.
