Dear Joe,
Again below are conversation with other forum members. Please note
these are 'my=Suresh' words and not of others.
Q: “is there a particular poise from which a self-realized person
participates in normal activities, fully involving his mind and body?”
A: Zen Masters are this category.
I have mentioned previously also, that what exist in the universe is
god only or only one being, and hence self-realized or ignorant, there
are no real difference. It is another drama.
Do you know Himalaya was created due to continent shift? Previously
there was either plain land or water, but due to imbalance under the
earth, continents shifted towards each other and created Himalaya.
Similarly when there is imbalance of dharma, a self-realized person is
created. Hence Bhagavad gita statement was very much important. i.e.
“Do your duty and don’t expect results” . If this is followed, then
there will be uniformity and balance in this world of humans. But this
is not followed, so imbalance is created, so self-realized (a
Himalaya) is required to stabilize this shift.
In Buddha’s time, there was lot of imbalance in Bharata desa, so
Buddha was born and he wanted to create many Buddhas like him to
stabilize so he created many monks. But please note even those who
follow or those call themselves as Buddhist do not lead a life of
monk. So by default all will not be monks.
Hence for me Bhagavad gita is supreme wisdom/knowledge which clearly
specifies how this universe functions. All born have some duties, let
them follow what is destined to them sincerely, even that duty is to
be cleaner, let them do that cleaning job. No one needs to aspire for
enlightenment. If you are interested to know the truth of this
universe, you will be automatically pulled towards it.
The enlightenment or self-realization (guru) is another kind of
profession like there are engineers, doctors, farmers etc., All need
not go for it, and definitely it is not the ultimate goal, one human
being should aim for it. You are ‘self’ or awareness / consciousness
or ‘god’ already; you need not aim for it. Do your duties that
destined to you.
Just think a bubble of water want to realize its water nature, what it
supposed to do? It is already water, only difference is air got
trapped inside. If it consumes more air, then that bubble becomes big
then the thin layer of water cannot contain that air anymore, so it
will burst and water become water and air become air.
Similarly those who aspire self-realization should get into more
materialistic life than spiritual life, then only its pain will be
more, so one day he will collapse due to the pain of his life and he
will totally dislike materialistic life and become enlightened. (The
imbalance creates mountains.)
You know in one Rajinikanth movie it is shown that if you like smoke,
smoke to your heart content, and then you will never touch smoke at
all. This is the way.
“I would prefer an integrated approach where body has its own unique
role to contribute in achieving the goal of human life.”
The “I” will take care of it. As per Ramana Maharishi “I” is the name
of the god.
So don’t worry about the world, don’t worry how others should behave.
Worry how I should behave.
The worrying of world and others is the drama of ego or an illusion
‘self’ created by the brain activity or thoughts.
Bhagavad Gita and Ramana Maharishi’s teachings are supreme wisdom,
read them as a scientific book and try to understand. You will know
everything.
I need your persmission to publish all our conversation to forums, so
that many will benefit.
Best wishes
Suresh
