joe, i have been interested in meditation for many many years..and went to a sort of teacher that to my mind had more problems and issues you could poke a stick at..ex. nun from new zealand.. i suppose she tried but i was very dissatisfied...very amateurish
there is not much going up in this neck of the woods in this field..then i did yoga and there was a meditation after that..and i still have the meditation c.d..it was excellent... though i do tai chi now and i see that as meditation in motion... i am still waiting to speak with the zen in the chair dude..anyway, is it not about quietening the mind and focus is on the breath...so why is zen different..? well i sort of got the gist listening to the pod cast of john daido loori roshi...i will check others... yes there are many traditions..even christianity offers it... i have decided to re engaged with the practise... dedicate myself daily and see what eventuates..so joe i am off to connect now in this space.. i think my art will change..already i feel a different vibration as to what my next drawing will be.. back to the very intricate mandalas...back back to the source..to the beginning nearly finished one drawing....calling it "in the kernel of light there is eternal love".. it is a beginning back to the source.. the eternal light filled with goodness and universal love enjoy your day.. cheers merle Merle, The difference between meditation and Zen meditation? You'd have to ask a teacher that. But, just for conversation, here, let me ask you what you mean by the first thing you mention: meditation. What do you mean by it? I have to know that before we compare it to anything. You know, there are many traditions in which meditation is taught and practiced. There is no such thing as just "meditation", I think. --Joe > Merle Lester <merlewiitpom@...> wrote: > > again thank you for this advice..i am very keen to move to a better space in >my mind that i have been at...i am working at it...i fear slipping back to old >habits.. so i must be on guard...pray what is the difference between >meditation and zen meditation?...thanks for your support joe..merle
