I remain in disagreement with Bill! at least and perhaps several others
here that draw a line between "stubbing your toe" experience with nothing
added and "loosing a student" experience with nothing added.  For myself,
my primate brain seems to have circuits just as ready to warn me that
something has shifted in my social environment as other circuits are ready
to warn me that my toe is impacting a wooden piece of furniture.
