Dear Zen friends,

I am putting down discussion on Maya happened on another forum and my
response to it.

=====================================================

GOD is the Unknown because HE is beyond Mind & Senses according to Upanishads
GOD may be The TRUTH & that is only a matter of FAITH
The Reality of World however changing & ephemeral it may be, there is
A CONSTANCY in THAT
That The WORLD is MAYA is only a matter of Perception, Interpretation
& Semantics
The Problem of GOD arises only because of the Reality of MAN
We can not talk about GOD unless we can accept the Reality of MAN
MAN & GOD are two inseparable parts of the Equation
One can not talk about ONE without the OTHER
In that sense alone MAYA & GOD go together
The Reality of MAYA can only be understood when Understanding is
accepted as A Requirement
If MAN is not Unreal then MAYA can not be Unreal
There is no PURUSHA without PRAKRUTI & Vice Versa
Thus SPIRIT & MATTER too can not be without each other
MAYA can only be interpreted as MATTER at least according to Vyasa's
Puranas & Sahasra Namas
There can be NO MATTER without GOD & MATTER can not have INDEPENDENCE
from GOD by definition
GOD is The TRUTH behind MATTER the APPEARENCE
This ADVAITA is the basis on which we worship GOD as "ADI DAMPATIS"
Lakshmi, Sati & Saraswati are worshipped as MAYA respectively in our
Sahasra Namams"
MAYA is NOT UNREALITY but Dependent REALITY

Dear Sri. Udayshanker,

Wonderful explanation on Maya. But why this truth even though
understood is not liberating?

Many times thinker is silent, eyes don't wink and stare, but it is not
revealing any truth as to who is who. Seen or realised as thinker is
outsider, the seer is silent this does not free the body from seer.

Suffering ends only when seer is separated from body, which happened
once, but why it is not permanent?

Prarabtha is the only answer. At least fortunate to realise this far.
Who is god? is seer god? Head nods voluntarily seem an indication of
truth. A great breath releases, tongue sweetened, fore head vibrates
what is this indicate? Staring continues. Hiss sound continues. For
all questions this non-dual continuous sound seems only answer within.
