Question: “God, Paramatma, is not going to question us why are we not doing a
particular ritual , when we are true to our conscience.”
Suresh: Only for these two lines I am prompted to reply.
I don’t know what word to use so that it doesn’t hurt you, but
indicate your mistake.
Please tell me when? Whom? Where or which? God in this universe ever
asked or questioned an individual that why on the earth, you haven’t
done this or that?
The paramatma or god is the rules. Rules and god are not different.
Buddha’s Dhamma pada is an immediate understandable example. Buddha
declared there is a law that is to be followed. He did not say there
is god who created laws.
So if you don’t follow certain laws you will get that much less
benefits. That is all, it is as simple as that.
If you don’t follow any of the Brahminic practices / rules, then
follow Buddha’s eightfold path, a proper road laid by him to walk into
it without any doubts. (Right view, Right intention, Right speech,
Right action, Right livelihood, Right effort, Right mindfulness, Right
concentration)
But in this eightfold path, almost all of them are very difficult to
follow today. But you can work back.
That is, have right concentration, which is Meditation or enquiry.
When we concentrate on enquiry of who am I, then we are mindful, and
mindfulness lead to right effort, and that effort directs right
livelihood, that right livelihood leads to right action, right action
brings right speech, right speech shows right intention, right
intention brings right view of who you really are.
So start meditation more deep and intense and enquire who am I? That
is the only dharma one need to do.
