In Zen what do we learn to remove a block? by force or by heart? I hope you can help me to build up the list of humanitarian that we should learn in daily life, starting from ourselves.
When the discussion comes to the situation in Iraq, please allow me to ask you do you really think that the world is really become saver than before? Does the American style of democracy is what Iraqi people need it now? Does the society in Iraq is getting saver and more peaceful for Iraqi people now? Do you really believe war can cease violence? Can killing cease hate? Does learning harmony in Zen meant we should ignore the truth, not by what we thought based on our upbringing, but based on what people who live in that particular region or environment see, hear and feel?
Learning Zen does not meant I should distance myself from the real world. When the most unfortunate 911 attacks happened, the whole world stood behind the American people and your leadership to fight against terrorists. But when Bush and Blair decided to attack Iraq, why they fail to get the synchronized endorsement from the rest of the world, but only some. Have you try to ask yourself this question? Would you be willing to listen the reason of other nations, e.g. in Europe?
Do we have global leadership crisis? You bet, we have ! In Europe, the common thinking actually is very simple, peace can not be reach (not to mention sustain) by taking war as THE ONLY solution.

Guess what? Not everyone lives in the good ol' US of A
or gives a shit. Mike.Isn't Australia also participating in Iraq? Not sure. Does Australia have a draft? Are youths who are Globally Conscious forced to participate?BTW, from a purely non-political point of view (if that is possible), shouldn't the most aware people need be in the most savage place on earth? I doubt that the , but if there is any place in the world that needs some kind of help, it is probably the Middle-East. Are there any major Zen temples in the ME?al
