Dear Andrew,

Show me a stamp collecting list where someone different comes on every
week and claims not only to be the expert on stamp collecting but insist
that they invented not only stamp collecting, but stamps themselves and
therefor have an exclusive right to arbitrate and evaluate each and
every post on the list, and I will show you a stamp collecting list
with some contention.

Maybe it is due to the nature of this list but we get at least a Buddha
a week to kill. You would think at least once in a while one of these so
called Buddhas would have the consideration to slink off and feed their
carcass to a tiger like the real one did at least once before he woke up
and started teaching.

We live in a time when we have Zen decorators teaching Zen. Apparently
all you need to do is read the zen chapter in your decorating book and
you are qualified to teach and interpret the teachings for every one
else. When one of these fully qualified decorators comes on we tend to
be a bit harsh. We tend to be a bit harsh with everyone who has THE
answer at least until they manage to convince us they have any sort of
answer at all....if you call yourself a Buddha what would you expect to
have happen on a list of a tradition where "If you meet the Buddha on
the road, kill him" is an important teaching? We are not talking rocket
science here..I mean ......come on ......get a clue. If you pretend to
have the answer a Buddha would give...I would duck if I were you. You
are on a list of professional assassins assigned to smoke your ass when
they see you. .....and it is a surprise?.....maybe they do not cover
this kill the Buddha quote in Zen decorating books or something....well
a Buddha is supposed to be an awakened one..it seem a bit silly to have
to tell them to wake up.

Be Well
