Evolution theory refers to biological life, not to the universe. And, according to Buddhism (kalpas) and some sciencifical theories, what we call "the universe" will stop existing after a while and then "create" itself again. Of course, we have no idea what lies beyound what we call "the universe" and even asking such a question has no meaning.
