[EMAIL PROTECTED] I would like people on this list to
be civil to everyone else on this list...again I agree. I note, however, that, many times, this has not been
how you yourself have behaved (check among the previous postings if seeking a
reference).>>
Check the archives. I get dozens of nasty posts directed at me. I get tired of baby-sitting. People may react, but I doubt anyone learns anything positive from emotional outbursts. It may be beneficial to
you and others to use this forum to blow off your stress, but that just causes
me stress as the Moderator. Then when I react, some of you like to say "Well,
you do it, so why shouldn't we do it too."
To the folks who do not
post very often, I imagine it gives them very little incentive to dive into
the water when they see the sharks swimming around biting
people.
I am not trying to put you down,
however the solution to less back-biting and sniping is to eliminate it.
I have noticed that the most vicious
participants that I have chased off this list do not participate anywhere else.
Dysfunctional people create a dysfunctional atmosphere. I have been requesting
more civility and it will happen. If you want to post ABOUT your anger and
let others discuss it with you (and how it relates to your Zen practice) that is
fine.
We need to grow as
a list. We need to take it to the next level: Intelligent Discussion. We will
all get a lot more out of it, and we will all learn a lot more from it. It is
like the difference between taking a regular class in High School, or Advanced
Placement. AP requires more preparation, but you learn a lot more.
