As I understand it, Wittgenstein believed the problems were
linguistic, relating purely to problems in the use of language.
Clear up confusions about meaning and no more problems.
The later Wittgenstein is even more enigmatic than the early
(Tractatus period). Many, many volumes have been written
discussing his thought. I've tried to read some of them but
that's more suited to a serious student with plenty of time (and
maybe a thesis to write), not an amateur like yours truly.
Anyway, I don't see how Zen could possibly lead to problems going
away. IMHO practice of zazen over time leads one to deal with
problems better, and indeed some situations may not be the
problems one thinks they are. But if you eat too much, you're
still going to get a stomach ache.
But, again IMHO, many so-called problems in life may not be as
bad as we make them out to be.
Zen leads to insight. Nothing magical, but clearing up confusion
is a step in the right direction towards an "enlightened" life,
if you will. A good life, anyway.
