Hi Brett,
Sounds like the path has not been extended to include $ZENHOME/bin. Try
this:
# PATH=$ZENHOME/bin:$PATH
# zenoss status
You can add that line to $HOME/.bash_profile.

On the other hand, you might be experiencing the "sudo isn't preserving
$ZENHOME" problem.
This results in commands like zenping failing.
See the mailing list archives for ways to configure your /etc/sudoers
file to preserve ZENHOME and PYTHONPATH environment variables.

Whenever I attempt to run one of the executables located in '/bin' when
I'm in 'bin,' as per the instructions, I receive a :
# zenping start
Bash: zenping: command not found
This occurs either as the zenoss user or as root.
Permissions don't seem to be at issue either.
The GUI runs fine, but these next steps will help get the populating
happening.
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
-B.
