Hi
folks,
I’m a
bit of a novice when it comes to snmp so please be patient, I’m also trying for
the first time to setup zenoss, it’s running as a virtual machine using vmware
on windows xp.
I have
a Cisco router which I want to monitor and graph CPU usage and memory. I have
the correct oid’s and can successfully receive proper values using an snmp
browser.
If I
add the cisco router to zenoss “Management | Add Device” I can only see the
interface graphs. Under “/Devices/Network/Router/MyRouter | Hardware” there is
nothing. So I’m assuming I have to add a custom monitor using the oid’s I have
tested above. But how do I add a custom monitor? How do I make sure I can see it
in graph format, just like the interface graph? How can I then insert thresholds
to trigger alerts etc? In fact do I even have to insert a custom monitor, did I
incorrectly add the cisco device in the first
place?
I know
I may be asking a basic questions here so be happy to point me in the right
direction of an already existing document that details the
answers.
Many
thanks
David Hodgson
