Greetings Zenoss Community,
The latest packaged version of Zenoss, Version 1.0.2, is available
for download.
IMPORTANT README BEFORE UPGRADING!!!!
The most important fix in this release solves an issue with upgrading
RPMs. Please follow the directions below when upgrading your RPMs.
Failure to do so will cause the loss of your $ZENHOME directory. This
bug was found in Zenoss RPMs that affects the following versions:
* 0.23
* 1.0.0
* 1.0.1
RPM Upgrade Procedure ΒΆ
If you are upgrading from any of the above version you must use the
following installation procedure. If you do not follow this procedure
and install the 1.0.2 RPM with just the -U flag your Zenoss
installation will be corrupted and you will lose your device list. To
upgrade from any previous RPM installation, you must use the
following commands (run as root):
# rpm --nopostun --nopreun -Uvh zenoss-1.0.2-0.i386.rpm
# rm /opt/zenoss/.installed
Please note that future versions of Zenoss will not require you to
pass the --nopostun and --nopreun options to rpm as a result of us
fixing the packaging bug.
Other fixes included in 1.0.2 include:
* zenmodeler wouldn't run when in daemon mode.
* Report objects didn't save properly after modification.
* Uptime and other RRD summary values displayed Unknown if using
python 2.3.x.
* When no SNMP community was found during reset an error was
thrown.
* Thresholds wouldn't fire if value == the threshold value.
* Lowered the number of parallel collections on zencommand so
that we don't run out of file descriptors.
* Handle missing Unknown manufacturer object.
* Sendpage on VMWare appliance was missing some perl modules.
* When switching between tables filter would persist zeroing out
table list.
