i installed zenoss on mac os x. mysql installed in /opt using macport
[1]. i manually added a few devices that are monitored via SNMP and
are using the default (settings) template.
i have a history in zenoss of a few events (for a printer that was
turned off and then turned back on) for one of the devices and zenoss
shows when the device was turned off and back on in its history. i
also received an email indicating that the printer was unavailable
and another one when it was available.
however, i have two problems:
1, i don't see anything in the events tab. it says 1 of 0 being
displayed (thats what it said before i set up any devices to
monitor). is that because the device automatically recovered? i am
not in the office to test what happens when i turn the printer off
and leave it off.
2, when i look at perf the graph for the device nothing is not
displayed because the icon doesn't load. i suspect this may be
because there is no data to load, or that the software to display the
icon is not being found by zenoss.
after the install of zenoss i manually started all, but the first two
processes (in the about tab). it has been more than 30 minutes, and
for one of the devices i added, i restarted zenperfsnmp but i still
get a broken icon when i try to load the page with the image.
any idea how to troubleshoot and fix this one?
