The zc.queue install error I reported was with the svn installation. I decided to download the zenoss 1.1.1 tar ball and build. Using the tar source, I got an more helpful error indicating simplejson-install failed. The zenbuild.log showed:
Code: The required version of setuptools (>=0.6c1) is not available, and can't be installed while this script is running. Please install a more recent version first. My installed version was 0.6a9. I used the ez_setup.py from http://peak.telecommunity.com/DevCenter/EasyInstall#installing-easy-install to upgrade to 06c5. With a new version of setuptools, I did a 'make clean' on my zenoss source and ran install.sh until completion - well at least I no longer have dependency problems, Hopefully, this helps someone.
