i havent ever imported any mibs into zenoss or anything....i just use a freeware mib walker (getif has worked out good for me) and find the oid i want to monitor and plug it in to zenoss. then you can create a threshold of certain values that are acceptable, and other values generate an event at a certain severity level. alerts can then be configured from there. you could probably use nagios plugins to accomplish the same thing too. zenoss has an integrated snmp trap daemon as well to receive snmp traps and input the data received into zenoss. all of this is pretty easy to do...id recommend just reading the manual.
