I can't speak for anyone else, buy my preference is that all Zenoss options can be scripted via command line...the gui is great for viewing, but for all of our automated processes via cfengine, it would be better if it were scriptable. I've found that 90% of zenoss is probably updateable via REST/XMLRPC, but there are some minor pieces missing here and there --- and that odd programming where the device/organizer functions use individual parameters instead of a dict/tuple/hash.
