I installed the beta from source on Ubuntu 7.0.4. Install went well. I am
monitoring just a few devices for test purposes. Switches and routers worked
as expected.

For windows devices, I set under /Devices/Server/Windows, zWinUser and
zWinPassword

I added a windows device, woapp4.
In woapp4 Events, I see;

Wmi error talking to woapp4: com_error(88): DOS code 0x00000058

and

wmi failed 88: Desc

This same device, user and password works in 1.1.2, via the zenwin proxy.

Am I doing somehting wrong?

Also - the OS tab no longer shows the IPservices (not expecting the winservices
until 1, above is fixed). Is that normal? And the software tab is empty.

Scott,

The Linux native WMI pollers (zenwinmodeler, zenwin, zeneventlog)
should be working in the beta. At least they are for me. However,
those WMI errors aren't a good sign. I'd take a look at the eventlog
on the server that's generating them to see if you can spot the reason
it isn't working.

As for the IP Services, make sure you have zenoss.snmp.IpServiceMap in
your zCollectorPlugins for the /Devices/Server/Windows device class
and device in question if they're set locally.
