I'm afraid you're making things more complicated than they are :-). Normally, all the parts/daemons of Zenoss run on one box. They can then manage any system that is reachable over the network.
It may be possible to use Zenoss in a "distributed" fashion (some Zenoss daemons running on others systems), but I've never heard of it. So just install Zenoss as per the installation instructions, and make sure the Zenoss server can reach the systems to be managed, then you can monitor them. Or do you need some proxy-llke setup to be able to reach the systems, because of firewalls or NAT? Then you might need to open ports, or install some dedicated SNMP proxy. But that would be independent of Zenoss. ------------------------ Sebastian Leske -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=8064#8064 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
