I'm confused by both explainations. in the first division by 100 does not yield a correct value since the ssCpuRawIdle value is a counter based on the cummulative cpu ticks. for example you would get a number like 1279735720 obviously dividing this number by 100 doesn't make sense. I can see how dividing the number by the number of cores is necessary, but still this doesn't yield a percentage.
I've seen a detailed explaination on how to calculate the percentage defined as the delta of the ssCpuRawX counter divided by the sum of the delta for each ssCpuRawX counters. Is this expalination correct? Is this how zenoss/rrdtool calculates the percentage for graphing or is it done some other way? ------------------------ Joe Gainey -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=8155#8155 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
