Hi,
Im trying to install zenoss-2.0.1-0.el4.i386.rpm onto Fedora 7 and
get these dependencies needed:
MySQL-client-standard >= 5.0.22 is needed by zenoss-2.0.1-0.i386
MySQL-server-standard >= 5.0.22 is needed by
zenoss-2.0.1-0.i386
libcrypto.so.4 is needed by zenoss-2.0.1-0.i386
liblber-2.2.so.7 is needed by zenoss-2.0.1-0.i386
libldap-2.2.so.7 is needed by zenoss-2.0.1-0.i386
libssl.so.4 is needed by zenoss-2.0.1-0.i386
net-snmp is needed by zenoss-2.0.1-0.i386
However, I already have MySQL 5.0.24a installed and running. Why
is it asking for that dependency?
I'm trying to resolve the rest of the dependencies.
looks like someone built zenoss on a system with the MySQL.org
distributed RPMs installed. the ones distributed with fedora are
written in lower-case. that's my guess at least.
i wouldn't normally suggest this, but if you can get the rest of the
dependencies resolved (which you might not be able too), you could
install the rpm ignoring the dependencies, but only for MySQL.
however, you might have more luck trying to install an EL5 version of
the zenoss RPM, as RHEL5 is more or less equivalent to FC7. if
there's one available, i haven't checked.
regards,
sb
