So far, I really like not having to install yet another client app. I
also like that ZenOSS doesn't have limitations on the OSS Core. So if I
do buy support, I'm not suddenly getting another product really as it's
got so much more/different features.
That said, with many of these products, I need to really know it anyway,
and all support would really be good for would be bug fixes (which I
hope we will get anyway). Training is another matter.
I guess the one thing I'm looking at here is Per Incident paid support.
That would be useful.
BTW, so far WMI is working great for me, but I can't get winexe to work.

For Windows boxes, the SNMP Informant MIBs in addition to the defaults will
give you CPU utilization, drive utilization and I/O stats, free memory and
paging file usage.
I'm sure if you have the right MIBs loaded for your firewall, routers and
switches you can get their information via SNMP as well.
All of the above worked for me under Zenoss 1.1, but 2.0 isn't modelling the
Windows boxes (tracebacks and errors) and I don't have the time to troubleshoot
it either.
I'm looking into using Nagios plugins and the nsclient++ agent for further
monitoring on my Windows servers. Again, I just don't have the time to deal
with Zenoss 2.0 and WMI at the moment.
Same here. My company has paid me enough to troubleshoot Zenoss 2.0.2 that
they could have just bought an Enterprise edition of it, but my guess is things
would still not work right. I'm giving up for now. If I turn on WMI my
services start to crash, like zeneventlog. It's been very frustrating,
especially when zeneventlog crashes every 5 minutes, I get no events.
So I'm looking at hyperic now. It has an agent that runs on any OS type and
gathers copious amounts of data from the system, way more then SNMP informant.
You get read/write on hard drives, win events, monitors SQL and its Databases,
and just crap load of stuff, even monitors my Zimbra now. So far its awesome.

Cya for now Zenoss......
