Thanks, but I checked and it seems this is not the problem:
# iptables -L -vn
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 85 packets, 6383 bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 62 packets, 7568 bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
