Well I'm a firm believer in the more information the better (provided my system
can handle it), but it comes down to what kinds of information I can get using
snmp traps I guess.

Mostly I'm monitoring servers (about 100) and not networking equipment. From
what I know now, in most cases you get traps for interfaces going up or down,
but is there anything else you can really get out of traps?

A better question might be whether or not you can get useful information in
snmp trap defaults (say from snmp or from microsoft)?

Do you know what types of things you intend to monitor using traps?
