In the old version of zenwin that ran on a windows machine using the native wmi libraries we had a similar problem. A monitored box would get into a bad state and the library would totally hang and never recover. Maybe this is a fundamental problem with the dcom protocol? I will talk to Andrzej about it.

The msrpc-service is probably not responding in the expected way. And when this occurs - at least in some cases, the monitoring daemon seems to crash.

Zenoss Devs: Doesn't this mean that there is an issue with the error handling on your zenwin* daemons. Is this a known problem?
