The issue here is that different servers have different items. Hence the
item types need to be added to the model before they can be monitored
without creating a template for each server.

For example, the number of raid controller, disks will be different from
server to server.
The number of Fans and Temperature sensors will be different from model
to model, and the max and mins of those devices will be different,
because the fan and temperature information is not help consistent from
device to device.

as far as i know the openmanage software uses snmp on its own.
so it should be quite easy to do the same poolling the right oid using
the dell mibs.
i'm working on something like that for my HP and Dell servers .
i'll let you know how it does soon if you wish.
