Help! I am a Windows guy who is stumbling his way through learning UNIX. I would like to add a few test UNIX boxes into Zenoss but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to setup SNMP? Everything thing I have found so far on google may as well be in Chineese ... can someone point me to a simple and straightfoward resource that will explain how to configure a Solaris 10 UNIX SNMP agent?
I have verified that the snmpdx service is online and running on my box and I have modified /etc/snmp/conf/snmpd.conf to reflect my SNMP communities, manager, etc. After restarting the SNMP service I attempt to add the device to Zenoss but it never does anything. I'm completely clueless as to how to troubleshoot ... can any help?
