Okay I have been working / playing with Zenoss 2.0.90 and I am having an issue with getting snmptraps to be sent to zenoss. Actually when I turn off zenoss and turn on snmptrapd and tail the log I am getting notifications, but when turn off snmptrapd and turn on zenoss the only 2 messages that I get are as followed: "snmp trap nsNotifyShutdown from webserv01" and "snmp trap snmp_coldStart from webserv01". No disk errors no process error no file size errors.
disk / 99% load 1.0 1.0 1.0 file /var/log/messages 8000 proc crond 1 1 I have tried recompiling net-snmp- 5.4.1 with disman/events and used the monitor command still no messages. A. If someone can shed some light on how or what can I change to use. I think I've tried everything that I know how. My second issue is that I am not able to configure polls per device on a specific device meaning if I can not get traps to work I would like to get warnings if a polled device fails. Failed disk or disk utilized over 90 %. If all else fails can anyone suggest a better agent then net-snmp (which is not simple at all).
