When I tried to upgrade my VM appliance to 2.1 using conary I was able to upgrade the packages OK.
However zenmigrate didn't work, I don't have the error messages any more unfortunately, but I am pretty sure the issue was caused by a dependency on a newer version of MySQL. The zenoss conary repositories don't include all the packages that are actually installed in a zenoss appliance. For reference the appliance was probably a 2.0.4 version that had been previously upgraded to 2.0.6 OK using conary. In the end I had to migrate by downloading and deploying a new appliance then using the backup and restore scripts to reload my old config.
